Setting The Record Straight

Acadia is a leader in providing high quality, evidence-based behavioral healthcare services in the United States. Every day, thousands of Acadia employees deliver compassionate, life-saving care to over 75,000 patients facing complex mental health, addiction and substance use challenges to improve lives, inspire hope and elevate communities.

A recent media report cherry picked and conflated historical incidents at a closed Acadia facility to paint a false and inaccurate picture of the safety and quality of the care our facilities provide. To be clear: Acadia and its facilities do not tolerate assault, abuse and neglect, and we have a zero-tolerance policy for behavior that could endanger our patients and staff. Acadia facilities take a proactive stance on care quality and patient safety, and we invest in new training, policies, procedures or enhancements as part of our culture of continuous improvement. Our policies require complaints and incidents are investigated and acted upon to protect our patients and staff. They are also reported to appropriate agencies as required by law or regulation.
