Julie*, the mother of a patient who received treatment at CenterPointe Hospital of Columbia in Columbia, Missouri, shares her son’s transformation from struggling in school and in his daily life to now getting good grades and being described by his teachers as “one of the most well-behaved students they have.”
Because of the dedication from the team at CenterPointe Hospital of Columbia, her son’s transformation has had a positive impact on the whole family.
“I would recommend CenterPointe Hospital to anyone needing an inpatient behavioral health stay for themselves or a loved one. In July 2023, my teenage son was admitted to CenterPointe. We had struggled for over eight years to find the support and resources we needed to help him. He struggled in school and in his daily life.
During the intake process, the Nurse Supervisor, Amber, answered all of our questions and helped to ease my anxiety. As a nurse myself, I was upset and had many questions related to his care during the stay. Every day, the hospital kept me up to date on how things were going. We received calls from nurses, social workers and even the psychiatrist before any changes were made to his treatment plan or medications.
Once my son was discharged, CenterPointe had a wonderful referral and follow-up system in place for him. The treatment team they set us up with for his extended care has been amazing. My son is now doing well in school, and his teachers brag to me that he is one of the most well-behaved students they have.
This is a long way from being suspended and in trouble all the time. His daily habits and social skills have also had a tremendous improvement and we are able to enjoy our time as a family. Thank you CenterPointe – you changed our lives!”
Thank you, CenterPointe team, for the compassionate, thoughtful, quality care you provide that changes the lives of patients and their loved ones.
