A patient who received care at Life Center of Galax in Galax, Virginia, shares her gratitude for the supportive team who helped her better understand her addiction and embrace a path to recovery. She was so inspired by her experience that she hopes to one day pay it forward by helping others.
“I’m so grateful to have found the Life Center Galax as a place for me and my partner’s recovery and mental health treatment. The staff are very dedicated to helping one learn how to put their sobriety and mental health first. They took a big part in educating about the importance of substance abuse, addiction, and mental health. Everyone helps you start a new, joyful life.
They also help you understand that you are not to be defined by your addiction… we have a choice not to be destroyed. I just not too long ago made it to the step-down phase, which involves living in a sober living atmosphere and it’s just the process I need to succeed in my recovery path.
Being as though I come from six hours away to a very unfamiliar area, House Leader Chrissy really made my transition so welcoming and easy. She is the best. I love my new house sisters; they are my new family. Galax is a great place to find yourself, heal your disease, and live again. I have seen so many families mended back, sobriety successes, and mental health management.
I’m so much stronger, driven, healthier, informed, and motivated to recover successfully and live a purposeful, prosperous future. Galax, I really appreciate all of you.
